April at Nomos
Following the trend set in March, April has proven to be another busy month! Here are a few highlights of the month at Nomos:
- The Trans-Tasman Bubble opened! After months of anticipation and preparation, the long-awaited two-way quarantine-free travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand commenced on 19 April 2021, seeing many homesick and cabin-feverish Australians and New Zealanders hopping on planes for the first time in more than a year. Since the travel bubble between the two nations opened, the number of flights across the Tasman Sea has been increasing to accommodate the number of eager travellers. The Bubble has been viewed as a very positive and progressive step in the effort to reignite the tourism industry and provide some much-needed relief to both the Australian and New Zealand economies.
- Our Directors had a series of meetings in Tasmania as you can tell from our photos this month. Tasmania is one of Australia’s most idyllic and peaceful locations, and leads the nation in the number of Skilled Work (subclass 491) Regional (Provisional) visa holders by a significant margin of several hundred. Tasmania is a worthy choice for anyone considering moving to regional Australia, with its natural beauty and a range of thriving industries. Watch out for our blog on what Tasmania can offer you.
- This month marked the fifth consecutive year that Director Kathryn Viegas has been recognised by the internationally acclaimed, peer-reviewed Best Lawyers organisation. Since 2017, Kathryn’s name has consistently featured on the prestigious list of lawyers who have attained recognition in their chosen area of practice as one of the ‘best lawyers’. Congratulations, Kathryn!
That’s the Nomos wrap-up for April. See you next month!
