Our Consultation Policy
Our consultation service is in high demand and our team are always busy! In order for us to use our time efficiently and serve all our clients as effectively as possible, we would appreciate you taking the time to read our Consultation Policy before making an appointment.
Payment
In order to secure your appointment, you must deposit the initial consultation fee of AUD385 (incl. GST, where applicable) into our trust account prior to your appointment. Once your consultation fee has been confirmed, we will send you an email confirming the details of your appointment.
The deposit into our trust account is generally done online. Please note that we do not accept cash on our premises or deposits via cheque. All deposits must be made via BPay or using a credit card. If you are unable to make your deposit online, we can process a credit card deposit over the telephone and will email you a copy of your receipt once processed.
The deposit is held in our trust account until the consultation, after which you will receive an invoice confirming that we have used those funds to pay for your consultation.
Priority Service
If you require legal advice from us urgently, we charge AUD495 (incl. GST, where applicable) for this priority consultation service. The fee is also payable in advance of your appointment in line with the above.
Rescheduling or Cancelling Your Appointment
If you give us more than two business days’ notice, we are happy to reschedule your initial consultation to another time. However, if you do this more than once, we may not be able to accommodate your request and may charge an administrative fee for this.
As our consultations are in high demand, we charge an administrative fee for any cancellations that occur with less than 48 hours’ notice.
We understand that sometimes things happen that are beyond your control, so we do take exceptional circumstances into consideration and will consider these on a case-by-case basis.
Lateness and No Shows
It is in your interests to ensure that you are on time for your appointment. If you are running late, please call the office and let us know. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be able to spend the full hour with your solicitor and we may ask you to reschedule your appointment.
If you don’t attend your appointment, we reserve the right to charge you an administrative fee.
