February at Nomos
We have had a fun-filled month! Here’s just a few of our February highlights:
- The Department of Home Affairs has been responsive to the global COVID-19 epidemic, with the introduction of restrictions for travellers arriving from any part of mainland China, regardless of nationality. Exceptions apply for Australian citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens who live in Australia and immediate family members of Australian citizens and permanent residents, amongst others. The restrictions are currently in place until 29 February 2020. You can stay up to date with the Department’s updates here.
- We were delighted to receive visa grants for one of our pro bono clients this week. Our client lives in Australia and is a permanent resident, whilst her two young children remained overseas. We worked to secure child visas for the children and were thrilled that they were granted in 5 months. The family will soon be reunited, which is fantastic news for all concerned!
- Nomos took part in Sydney’s iconic Mardi Gras Festival and had a stall at Fair Day this month. We made lots of new friends and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of one of Sydney’s most vibrant festivals, celebrating a welcoming and inclusive community that embraces diversity. Happy Mardi Gras to everyone celebrating this weekend!
That’s the Nomos wrap-up for February. See you next month!
