Are you looking forward to a reunion with your parents this festive season? If so, exemptions are already being approved for parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents.
We have recently received approval for a travel exemption (below) for a parent planning to travel to NSW. This request was approved for travel on or after 1 November 2021, when the recently announced changes take effect. This parent also received an eVisitor visa grant shortly before their travel exemption was approved.
The Department is clearly working towards making decisions on these exemptions in a timely manner, knowing that there will be a flood of requests in the lead up to Christmas and the New Year. The time is now – if you want to discuss your parent’s options, get in touch.
