October at Nomos
With only 61 days left in the year, we are trying to fit in as much as possible into 2019. Here’s just a few of our October highlights:
- We have attended a number of continuing legal education sessions on the forthcoming changes to the General Skilled Migration programme and in particular, the new regional skilled visas which are due to be introduced in November. We have already had many clients seeking advice on how these changes will affect them, and this will no doubt continue.
- Our Corporate Immigration team has seen an increased focus by the Department of Home Affairs on the ability of standard business sponsors to meet the ‘Australian Market Salary Requirements’ in their assessment of nominations for Temporary Skilled Shortage visas. We have been working with our clients to ensure these requirements are appropriately documented in all applications.
- Kathryn and Victoria have both been travelling this month, with Victoria travelling to New Zealand to witness her niece’s admission to the Bar in the High Court of New Zealand. Kathryn is in the UK to attend the 9th Biennial Global Immigration Conference presented by the International Bar Association’s Immigration and Nationality Law Committee, so watch this space for her insights.
That’s the Nomos wrap-up for October. See you in November!
