Legal practitioners currently registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) are no longer required to complete MARA approved CPD. Furthermore, the pending removal of legal practitioners from the regulatory scheme that governs migration agents means every Australian legal practitioner will be able to provide migration law advice without being registered as a migration agent with the MARA. In light of these developments, we ran three Foundations in Immigration Law courses for legal practitioners in March, July and November 2017. The feedback from attendees was resoundingly positive and we look forward to running more of these courses in 2018.
